mod files and VS

Post by pagelucy »

I want to buy a JVC camcorder with a hard drive, but it saves to the hard drive as a .mod file. Does anyone know of a way to convert this type of file to one VS will use?

I'm really tired of the hassle of trying to get my analog tape to record. It seems to crash my machine quite regularly. I've also heard that using some camcorders with mini dvd recordings don't agree to well with VS too. I go through all the recommened tweaks etc. Transfering directly to the machine would be heaven. Anyone have any advice in this area?

Thanks,
Lucy

Hi
I have written a small tool sdcopy.exe which converts the .mod files to standard mpeg2 files.
Can be downloaded from the following link:

Thanks you. I couldn't find where it said VS10 would use mod files. Guess I overlooked it. I do have VS8 and VS10 plus. I'm off the shop for my camcorder now!!!

Also Thanks for the converter. I did download it. You are very nice to share it. Wouldn't it be great if everyone keep their programs to standard formats. I think it ought to be the law that an app must have at least one standard output.

This is a useful forum.

Thanks again to both of you. I appreciate your help ever so much.
