Adding a copywrite / anti-burning device to DVD Productions?

Post by 5LEEPER »

Can Ulead do it?

VS9 or VS10?

Just about to Burn off a quite a few DVD's and would like them to not be able to be burnt, or atleast make it much harder for the amature IT users.

Is this in anyway possible? if so...how? is there something simply like a check box?

cheers

Have you found a commercial DVD yet that could not be copied?

No, none of the NLE's out there, not only Ulead's, can do it. You'll need Megabucks to get a system that could.

No Sir, you don't need to be an Einstein these days. Just look at the effort big movie companies go through, trying to protect their content in vain. What hope would you or any of us have?

You can, though, add "copyright information". On the burn screen open the Burning Options window (the disc with the i) where you can select Copyright Information. Never tried it though.

Copy-protection tools New!
Support for setting CSS (Content Scramble System) and Macrovision® (Type I, II, and III) copy-protection flags when creating masters.
Does it really add the copy-protection, or just add the flags?

...copy-protection flags when creating masters.
Black Lab is right. That means when you send your ISO file on DLT (tape) to the DVD manufacturer, their software will detect the flags and automatically include these features. But, the master tape that you make is not encrypted. Ulead DVD Workshop can do the same thing.

I do use this copyright. You can paste from a text file.

It adds a COPYRGHT.TXT file with your text on the DVD.

But apart from being read by a PC, I don't know what use it has.
I use that to add comments for me on my DVD (needed files, production info like used menu type, or filemanes of background images/video/music etc).
In fact a quick and dirty replacement for "Add personal folder" function.
