Capwiz/VS8 capture audio too high

Post by hhhgamewmx7 »

When I capture an old VHS tape with Capwiz and VS8, the volume is too high and some crackling occurs. This remains in the file and cannot be taken out by lowering. I was wondering if there is a way of lowering the audio as it is being captured to stop it from crackling.

Thanks for any help.

Which ADS Tech device do you have (please list name and model number). And also which version of CapWiz.

Can you provide details for all the connections involved during the capture (for example, VCR output to ADS Tech RCA inputs (red/white for audio, yellow for video), then single USB connection from ADS Tech device to computer).

What is your source? Perhaps the audio-output from the source can be lowered :?:

It's ADS Tech DVD Xpress USBAV - 701 Rev. 2

Using CapWiz 3.1 because I found probelms with later versions.

VCR from scart to RCA in ADS device to USB on a Win XP PC.

Source is a VHS tape using a Grundig VCR. There are no settings to lower the output volume on this VCR.
