I run XP, but am considering switching to Linux. I was told that PhotoImpact and other Ulead products would run in the Linux system, but I have not been able to find any reference to Linux in the forums or in the manuels.
Does anyone know if PI operates in Linux? If so, what about other Ulead products? I have pretty much all of Ulead's products.
Thanks for the help.

I here your pain. I have an older version of Linux that does not run Windows programs. However, an older add-on program called Codeweaver does allow you to run several programs like Photoshop under Linux.
As Heinz-os indicates, presently Ulead is not ported to run on Linux, that does not mean it will not. The newer versions of Linspire and Xandros, contain a very new version of Codeweaver that allow non-Linux apps that run on the XP platform to run under Linux. All three have Web Sites if you are interested.
I believe at present Ulead is untested. You might contact Codeweaver Support and see if Ulead will run under their program.

Linux is not in PI's OS support list.
Via Codeweaver yes it's possible you can run PI (or any other Ulead products) on Linux, but it's not suggested (and not supported).
Codeweaver is based on Wine ( http://www.winehq.com ). You need to pay for Codeweaver but Wine is free.
You can run Microsoft Office for Windows and some other Windows programs on Linux via Wine. However, for some Windows programs you might need to get WineTools also.
Best regards,
H.T.
