ULEAD - NERO - VSO ???

I use in the moment Nero with Vision4. For made professional DVD look I hear from Ulead.
In the test with a 100 minute video I must see a time to ready from over 5 hours. NeroVision made it with the same feature (2pass) in 65 minutes. The quality for my eyes is not very different.
My System:
ASUS A8N SLI Premium with an Athlon64 X2 3800@4400, 1 GB DualChannel and a Nvidia 6600GT. Why is the Ulead Software very slow? In a magazine I ve read, the Software is running fast. I cannnot see this.
Who can help me - the best help for me is in german language ?

Video Studio functions very efficiently when you keep your capture, render and burn settings identical throughout the process. It becomes very slow when asked to perform file conversions. I've rendered and burnt a 75 minute NTSC DVD video file in about 45 minutes with 'smart render' disabled.
