Analouge Tape to digital vs 8

I am trying to convert old VHS Tapes ( analouge ) to DVD and I am using a Belkin High speed USB2 external converter. I am connecting the VCR by means of Composite connections . I am using VS8 and can only get the picture / capture in Black and white . I have looked at the capture format and have set it to PAL . When I open the dialougue box named OPTIONS I cannot select Composite because the option is not available. Hope this makes sense///// thanks

On the old forums this problem came up a number of times and I don't think we ever found a solution for it, other than throwing the Belkin device away and buying a decent converter.

Have you used the software it came packaed with to capture or try using something else to capture such as Movie Maker. you could import the capture into VS8.
