Dolby Digital Audio?
Could be your source dvd has Dolby Digital audio (AC3), and your version of MF3 doesn't support AC3 audio (decode and/or encode).
Can you tell what the audio type is on your source dvd?

Plugin?
Double check if your version of MovieFactory 3 SE supports Dolby Digital audio (it might or might not). The retail "Standard" version of 3.0 does not, while the Retail "Disc Creator" version does. I'm not sure about the "SE" version that you have.
Ulead sells a Dolby Digital plugin for VideoStudio 8, so they might have a similar plugin for MovieFactory 3.0 SE -- send their tech support or sales an email explaining the version you have and how you can get the Dolby Digital plugin (maybe the one for VideoStudio works with MovieFactory -- I don't know).

For AC-3 Plug-In, see also:

I would consider the upgrade to Disc Creator instead of the Plug-in

So far as I know, any SE version of Ulead products will not support Dolby Digital audio because of the license fee issue. And at the present time, no Dolby AC-3 plug-in for Ulead DVD MovieFactory.
If you wish to get Dolby AC-3 support in Ulead DVD MovieFactory, you will need to upgrade your DVD MovieFactory to the Disc Creator version.
Another note: if you have some other non-Ulead video/audio products like Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 installed in the system, you might not hear the audio of the MPEG video clip made by Ulead when you play it in software players, that is because Roxio will install some MPEG audio CODEC that caused the problem. But you can still hear the audio of the clip in Ulead products and use it to burn your DVDs. Uninstall Roxio will solve the problem.
Hope this helps.
