Video Studio 10 Crashes

Post by jennatomic22 »

I was in the middle of editing a project, and I had just finished it, and was just doing some color corrections.. and all of the sudden my video studio crashed.
When I tried to re-open video studio again, as this problem occurs often and a window pops up that says "recover previous project".. instead the studio crashes and a window came up saying.. "Ulead VideoStudio has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." send error report, don't send error report.. or debug.. I tried debugging, didn't do anything.. I tried sending an errort report (not that it ever helps).. nothing worked.. After pressing that window disappears.. another window comes up saying
"The instruction at "0x029c2fa9" referenced memory at "ox02284d88". The memory could not be "read".. Click OK to terminate the program.. So I click ok...
So I moved my finished project into another final (i didn't want to lose 8 hours worth of work).. and deleted video studio 10 and reinstalled it.. STILL did not work.. I would really apprecite any help reguarding this matter..
or send me an email at jennatomic@msn.com
Thanks

There could be a number of reasons for this. Among them; what programs do you have running in the background on your system? Also, have you updated your video drivers since your video card was installed? The most likely cause would be out of date video drivers conflicting with Video Studio.

Please tell us something about your file format, and how you captured it. The Read This First... post at the top of the forum tells you what we need to know in order to help you.

By any chance, are you editing MPEGs or DivX files? Something other than AVI/DV?

Your memory could be faulty also.

Have a read of this thread http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... hlight=ram and this one http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 0&start=45

Just run a search on this board for RAM or memory in the message text and you will find a lot more.

Jenn -- Heinz was talking about RAM (Random Access Memory) but you are talking about hard disk storage space ('memory' in a loose sense).

RAM comes on small sticks and your computer might have, say, 128MB, 256 MB, 512MB or 1GB.

Sometimes, they can have a small defect at one point (or more). When a program tries to access that exact point, you get the sort of error message you got ('The instruction at "0x029c2fa9" referenced memory at "ox02284d88". The memory could not be "read".') There are free programs you can run to see if your RAM is functioning properly. Google for 'RAM Test'.
