Hi, Please can anyone help ?
We have been using Ulead Video Studio 8 and most of the time, it has been fine, but for one particular recording which is giving us a really hard time.
We have recorded our holiday from video onto three disc.
Two of the discs have turned out fine, but the third disc seems to be completely out of sync with the talking.
So, we thought maybe we had done too much editing, so we recorded it straight through, no editing at all.....nope.....still out of sync.
We then tried burning onto a better quality disc.....nope....still no good.
We have done the same with each disc, taking it from video onto the PC, edited, then burnt onto disc, but this one disc is driving us to distraction.
Has anyone else had the same problem ? If so, does anyone know how we can get round it please ?
When it - the third holiday part - is played back on the PC, it is fine.....nothing wrong with it....it's not out of sync at all, it's just after it is burnt onto the disc, it is out of sync.
We've tried playing it back on various DVD players, but each time it is out of sync, but the other discs are fine.
We have also tried this......One way many people found to get round it was to create a video file first by going to "Share >> Create Video File" and choosing to make a 'DVD' file first - when asked give it a unique name so that when you do go "Share >> Create Disc" you can make sure you delete any videos already in the 'Create Disc' module and import your new uniquely named file and burn that to disc.....
All that happens now, is the file created is now too big for the disc.....it was an hour twenty but the file was 5.5 gb
Please can anyone put us on the right track?

Version 8 had a lot of problems with OOS (out of sync) video. Do a search and you'll find many posts. My solution would be to upgrade to V10. It has many new features and no OOS problem.
Edit: In the short term you may try unchecking Perform Smart Render when you render. That seemed to solve some problems.

Yes, I had OOS issues with version 8, lots of people did. Do you have the burning patch installed? If not, see this post from tyamada...

It solved my problems, but if you still have issues, I would recommend downloading a trial of VideoReDo. It can resync audio and video automatically or manuallly (amongst other things), and does it pretty well.
But like Black Lab said, an upgrade to V10 is your best bet if you can afford it.
peace.

As Black Lab says, disable 'smart render' and you'll be fine. In VS8 the rendered file appeared in sync and the sync error was only apparant after the burn. In video studio 10, at least you can see the error at the render stage. This particular function should have been called "not very smart render some of the time"
