Buying Cool 3D

Post by vid-KA01 »

Hey everyone... First of all, I've been thinking about buying the boxed version of Cool 3D instead of downloading it simply because I would think there would be extra reference material for a half-way beginner (I've used the demo, so have some experience) if I bought it that way. If this assumption is wrong, let me know!

Having said that, I have one rather nitpicky question to ask...

Here's the deal: On Ulead's site, they have their particular product labeled as "Cool 3D Production Studio" and the packaging looks like this:

I went to Office Depot's website (to see if I could buy it locally), and on their website, they have it labeled simply as "Cool 3D Studio" and the packaging looks like this:

So my question is... if I go to Office Depot to buy the software, is it going to be the exact same thing? It looks almost identical (maybe just an older picture of the box?)... but because I noticed these small differences, I wanted to be sure first. Also, if I'd be better off just downloading it, someone tell me!

THANKS FOR THE HELP!

Personally, I always like buying box versions of software. No worries with not receiving the full download, extra content, etc... Also avoids the hassle of having to keep the issued software key or serial number around.

As for the question between the two box covers, the answer is that they are the same. COOL3D Studio was targeted to the advanced COOL3D user. For undisclosed reasons, the name was changed to Production Studio.

Thanks for the help.

But now I'm having second thoughts on downloading it, that way I can get a discount on the Madness Plug-Ins...

At least I know I have the option to buy locally if I want to.

COOL 3D Studio and COOL 3D Production Studio are the same product. However, COOL 3D Studio is v1.0, and COOL 3D Production Studio is v1.0.1.
