How to choose only certain colours

Post by Peep Productions »

How do you select only certain colours in your footage?

For example in Schindler's List the film is in black and white, yet at one point there is a girl in red.

Is there a way to do this on Videostudio?

No that is not possible in VS. However you could do it using it's bigger brother, MediaStudio Pro and Video Graphics Lab.

You could just use Video Graphics Lab (Video Paint) and then Paint over the area in the frames that you want colorized. Once done you then use the video file created from VGL.

I don't think VideoStudio has the "Color Corrector" tool that MediaStudio Pro has. Using the Color Corrector tool in MSP, select a color, then hit the inverse button, and turn down the saturation to taste.

Thanks for your help guys.

Sounds quite complicated to do it frame by frame or however you would do it in Video graphics lab.

Hmm, might have to scrap that idea then.

Thanks again for your help.
