i get white spots, *points at hair & outline* how can i color drawings in photo impact w/o getting those white parts? (i use photo impact pro 8.5 if u need to know what version)
I take it you use some sort of line art to start with.
When you select an area to color in, go to Menu >Selection >Expand/Shrink and select the number of pixels to expand by. A value of 1 or 2 pixels should do the trick.
I do not know which tools you are using to create your artwork, however the following is generally true.
Just below the Command Menu is the Icon Menu Bar and below that is the Tool Options Bar, which changes each time you select a different tool. Each time you select a new tool, there may be an option to select or deselect anti-aliasing. For some brushes there is no anti-aliasing, however, there is a Soft Brush adjustment, set the adjustment to 0. No soft edge.
To the rightside of the work area are the Palettes, and on the Tool Settings palette, depending on the brush type there may also be an anti-aliasing setting.
Here is the general problem. Anti-aliasing creates a gradient fadeout on the edge of a path object or brush stroke, usually only two or three pixels wide. When you try to fill, using solid colors, or with the Fill Tool that has a soft edge or is anti-aliased, the edge, (the gradient fadeout) does not fall within the tolerance of the tool. Therefore, small areas of pixels are left behind that appear as spots or line of unpainted color. In otherwords, one tool does not pickup the softer colored pixels created by the previous color. This is unfortunately a common occurrence with most paint programs, unless you paint in pure vectors.
One method of stopping this particular problem is to use the 256 color palette.
