Max,
I use a small app called AVIcodec.
http://avicodec.duby.info/
Once installed it became a right click option.
It will tell you the type of file, fps, size etc.
If it's an NTSC file before burning and you choose NTSC properties in your project then it will remain an ntsc file once burned.
