Problem with volume rubber banding

Post by hanskru »

I used VS9.0 before and had no problems with volume rubber banding, in VS 10 I want to reduce volume in the music track in order to hear the original voices, however teh muisic volume remains the same level. The key frames show that the rubber band is lower than the original music volume, but the sound does not reduce.
Any suggestions??

You are probably playing it in Clip mode. Switch to Poject mode and it should play correctly.

Hi Jef,

sorry I played in Project mode. Also the fading of the volume doesn't have any effect. With VS9.0 I did not have these problems,#

I had the same problem while experimenting with the soundsettings - solved it by hitting "save" - whether I saved it in Project- or Timelinemode, I don't remember...

To hear your sound volume tuning, you need to play it using the button in the audio view mode (where you have the surround mixer display) the arrow along the top, next to the stereo or surround title.
Did you do that or just use the play button under the preview window?

volume rubber banding

Hi Anders,

indeed when I saved the project the volume decreased when I wanted it and also the fading worked. Quite strange as in VS 9.0 you could immediately check if the timing of the decrease of the sound was OK.

Hi Daniel, the audio view button was on, otherwise you cannot do anything.

Thanks for your support Hans

No, no, we're not talking about simply the audio view, but also activating the mixer tab, otherwise what you hear is the clip itself, not your rubber banding modifications of the clip
It's the same for picture or movie clips, if you're not in the Attributes tab you see the original, no effects from the filters etc.
