SmartScene Menus?

Post by messir »

I recently got the Videostudio 10 and everything works fine, thanks to this forum and he sticky regarding "how-to.."
However, finalizing a project I only have one of these "SmartScene Menus", an awful thing with a white rose (tulip?). Sure, I can hide it away, but I was more interested to know if there are more of these menus available somewhere hidden in the software or as downloads?
VS10 is my first editing software so I cannot "borrow" these menus from previous versions.
Can I somehow edit my one and only SmartScene Menu?

You don't mention how you obtained your copy of UVS10 - did you download it ?? If so did you download all the 'extra content' via the smartdownload (another 700Mb or so of files)

The reason I ask is because I have 5 of those Smartscene menus which installed automatically from my disc version.

There is quite a lot of customisation you can do to that menu - change the size of the thumbnail - remove that 'lily' - move text around - change the background picture etc.

But you dont HAVE to use a smartscene menu - you can also use one of the 'Text' menus - or better still (to my mind) use one of the 'Thumbnail' menus. I say better because I find the thumbnail menus much more ameniable to customisation.

Can I suggest you also have a read of this thread :-

where you will find a discussion about editing DVD menus, some links to other useful threads and some pictures of what can be done.

Thanks Brian for your answer!
I did try to edit both Smartscenes and Thumbnails and it wasn't that tricky - nice with that preview feature that lets you preview the menus as well.
I bought the software through Ulead's webshop a week ago but never saw anything about some 'extra content' - never mind, editing will be the way to go.

If you have only one smart scene menu you did not go completely through the installation of the software. I'm a download-version user so don't know the details but browse your CD or maybe there's a second CD and you should find another setup or install option, your are missing a lot of contents (pictures, menus, videos, overlays, music and sounds, help files etc).

If you can't find it, restart the install and select for a "repair".
