HALLO,
I AM USING VS8. FOR ANALOG CAPTURING SUCH AS VHS OR TV PROGRAM I AM USING INTEX TV TUNER CARD. IF I DID NOT CHANGE FIELD ORDER IN PROJECT SETTING AND GET INTO CAPTURE WINDOW AND CHANGE FIELD ORDER FROM THE OPTION, DOES IT WORKS, WHAT IS THE CORRECT PROCEDURE?
PLEASE HELP ME.

field order confusion
Moderator: Ken Berry
If you do a search in this forum for field order subjects, you will find more info that you will ever need about the subject.
The important is that the field order is conserved from capture to editing to authoring. I don't know your card but analog is USUALLY upper field first.
Did you notice I used capitals only to enhance the important part?

Hi Dip
The correct procedure is to set the field order at the capture stage.
From File Preferences select—show messages when inserting first video……..
Start a new project
Capture--Capture Video—Options—set your field order here using the ‘change field order’.
Generally capturing via a tv card is analogue.
Analogue capture requires Upper Field.
Once your capture is complete you will get an info window asking you to change the project properties to match the video file, this is what you need, select yes/ok
Your project properties should be the same as your capture properties.
During capture check the ‘drop frame counter’ any number higher than zero is not good.
