Hi
When MSPro creates an AVI it does not create a new timecode to reflect the timeline -(as I always thought).
It preserves the original timecode of the clips except when a transition is used then it drops the code to ZERO and resumes with the original code after the transition. So basically the timecode will be jumping all over the place. I think this is an error and may be causing problems for me when I then create DVDs with chapter points in Workshop2.
The point of my post is really to ask if anyone knows how to make MSPRO (or any other utility) take an avi and create a new avi with a contiguous timecode??
I found a utility for the date stamp but not time code.
Any help appreciated.

MS-Pro timecode creating AVI - Timecode anomaly
There are two timecodes. The one that starts at zero for all media and the one that reflects the date and time the video was recorded. The latter is destroyed by rendering in MSP, which is why you're seeing it mantained except for transitions - but it's academic as it isn't used in MPEG encoding anyway.
If you're having problems in MF2 (such as synchronisation) it's nothing to do with timecode. Don't waste your time looking for the problem there.
