VideoStudio 9 DVD's Don't Work!

Post by Andy B »

Hi All,
New to the product and finding it excellent until I burn my revised films onto DVD. These will then not play in my dvd recorder / player despite it covering every and I mean every format currently on the market. I am using DVD +RW disks.

Any help greatly appreciated as I am under some pressure to deliver a family wedding on DVD to a couple of people

Cheers

I bet your burning at maximum speed.
I use a 16x DVD burner and 8x discs. Tests have shown that burning at speeds higher than 4x produce unreliable DVD's that
1. Play OK in some standalone players
2. Play but with errors in other standalone players
3. Refuse to play whatsoever.

Burn at 4x or less they play in everything.

Does the DVD play on anything? Does it play on your computer... like a regular DVD? I mean, do the menus work, etc.?

Does the DVD have the usual AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders?

Have you tried a DVD-R? A different brand of blank DVDs?

Thanks for the advice, the DVD does work on the PC but not on any DVD Players at all.
I will try re-doing the DVD at the rate of 4* to see it that makes any difference.
Any other ideas keep them coming
Cheers

Many DVD players do not like DVD + media and many do not like RW media. The dye used in RW disks renders the signals weaker. Since you used +RW there are a few options you can explore
