Upgrade from V9 to V10

Post by sdgamester »

When I upgraded to V10 I noticed two things. I had more mask transitions for V9, Mask A, Mask B, Mask C. All pre-made. How can I get these back in V10. Also, same applies to themes. I had some created in V9 that I would like to use in V10 without having to recreate. Is this possible?

Steve -- you will recall that I have the same situation as the OP and others on this forum (and in addition to Masks, also missing most of the Flashback transitions and the Album category altogether). I have given up trying to rectify the situation and in fact it does not bother me as I have the wonderful alternatives of the Canopus FX transitions.

Further to your tutorial, though, my own experience is that not only is it inadvisable to try transferring VS9 transitions to VS10, it in fact simply does not work. VS10 cannot be induced the see the transferred transitions, even after a reboot, or repair or the dread reinstall...

You will recall that after installing the Burger transitions (and the Canopus FX plug-in for those who have it), when you next start VS10 (or 9), there is a slight pause and the blue Ulead progress bar appears, indicating something is being updated i.e. the new transitions. But this simply does not occur when you transfer the VS9 transitions to VS10.

sdgamester, Ken

If you look down the link to the part headed
Transitions
You will see that I have listed the Mask Transitions in VideoStudio 9
and then the Mask Transitions in videoStudio 10.

VS9 contains 48 Mask Transitions
VS10 contains 49 - it has 1 more.

First let me say Thank you to both of you for the comments. I do see that there are new transitions and that there is one more than in V9. My problem is that they took some away and did not just add to them. I think it would have been better to keep the originals and add on new ones in V10. One good thing, the ones they have added have some nice options.
Thank you,
Steve

OK -- I misunderstood the OP -- thinking he was in the same position as me and others, with only two Mask transitions *in total*, not 48 or 49. That will just remain one of the ineffable mysteries, it seems...
