Overlaying Video Help

Post by plutox989 »

I guess i'm still a newbie at this software...For some reason, I can't figure out how to overlay video onto another video in such a way that it is faded revealing the other video behind it (transparency). The "customize filter" option on the video I want to overlay video is disabled (grayed out)...Can anyone help?
Thanks

Hi Plutox,

I don't know if you are looking for a Transition Effect which would be a Cross-Fade, or actually using an overlay track. We also need to know what software you are using and the version. Are you using VideoStudio (VS6, 7, 8, 9,10 or 10 +) MediaStudio Pro, or some other program?

A transistion effect is an effect between 2 video or image clips, where they move from one clip to the next. A fading type transition would be a Fade to Black, or a Cross-Fade. These can be found in the Effects Library. You drag one of these between 2 clips. They can be further customized by clicking on the customize button for the effect.

In order to access the Customize Options, the effect must be dragged to the clip on the timeline.
