Hello, Everyone
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with my problem. Everytime I exit v10 I save my project and it closes about 5 to 10 seconds after i get a message that says ulead has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I don't get it because I have already exited the program. I wouldn't mind it so much if when i go back into v10 it always asks me if I would like to recover the previous project.
Can someone please help me out?
I am using v10 plus

It seems you are the only one believing that you have closed the program. From the messages you get I gather that's not the case.
We don't know enough of your system and the available disk space to even guess at a solution. It could also be that your RAM is faulty.
It takes a while for the program to close because it needs to save the last actions to your project. How much free disk space do you have? When did you defrag the last time? Where does your swap file reside? and, and, and ...?

Hi
He is not the only one who is having this problem. VS 10 Plus gives me this same error message 9 out of 10 times when I exit the program. I have plenty of free hard drive space and memory. I also have VS 7, 8, 9 installed on my machine without giving me this error message. Since the error message is more of a nusance than a problem, I am just waiting for ulead to come out with a patch to fix the problem.

I didn't say he was the only one with this problem. He believes his program has closed when in fact it hasn't.bobcwilson wrote:Hi

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if you are waiting for a patch from Ulead to fix this problem, you may be waiting in vain. I do not believe this to be a Ulead problem. It's rather a problem with your OS and hardware/software mix.
Often, a fresh install can fix this particular problem but not always. For Ulead to provide apatch to fix this, there would have to be more users having the same problem and the problem to be reproducable on Ulead test systems. If they cannot reproduce the error, how could they provide a fix?
I'm sorry that you do have this problem but I feel that we should try to address the issues on your machine and try to come up with a fix.

Hi
At the moment I am using VS 9 although I do have 10. Its just a big project I need to finish in 9 as I am working with my daughter who only has 9.
OK ---If I install Quick time 7 which indecently is included with vs 10 I have problems. The dreaded ‘encountered errors’
By reverting to Quicktime 6 I have no problems. No crashes
I don’t know if this a problem with my OS or a ulead problem.
If you are running QT 7 it may be worth trying 6.

I started exiting like you said and it seemed liked it worked for a while but it still does the same thing. Anymore ideas?TDK1044 wrote:This may sound trivial, but always exit Video Studio using File....Exit rather than just clicking on the 'x' at the top of the screen. If you allow VS to close correctly I think you'll find that this problem will go away.
Thank very much

I've been having the same problem with 10+. If I have a project that has alot of video clips in the timeline along with graphics etc and I exit I get the error message. I always use ALT-F4 to close, never heard about using File>Exit because it closes the program "properly".
Now if I start a project and the VSP file is not large upon closing everything acts normal. I just live with this & consider myself lucky that 10+ does not close in the middle of my work flow.
