VS 10: Capturing Audio

Post by jon@myusualplace.com »

Maybe I'm just missing it, but is there a way to capture audio directly from a CD in VS 10 like there was in VS 9. The only way I've been able to capture Audio from CD in VS 10 seems to be to Rip it from CD 1st, insert it into the Timeline and then Trim it. This is incredibly inconvenient compared to inserting it directly into the timeline from the CD without the capture to disk step.

It only takes two seconds to drag and drop it into the timeline, after capture, Jon?

In fact if you tick the box "Add to project after ripping" UVS10 even puts it in the timeline for you.

I think the replies are missing my point...

In VS 9 I could use the controls to play the songs on a cd, figure out what parts of the song I wanted to use and then press Record to capture only the part of the song I was interested in. I see no way to do this in VS 10. In VS 10 I have to grab the entire song and then, after it's been added to the timeline I can trim off the parts I don't want. It really is inconvenient in comparison to the way it worked in VS 9.
