error message 13011:2:3 failed to connect to driver ----

can you help plse. i am trialing the movie factory 5 program. i have an aver tv usb 2.0 plus video capture card with the latests drivers etc.
i can use all of the program features on mf5 except video capture.
if i try to run the import fron video capture the error message below appears.
error message 13011:2:3 failed to connect to driver aver tv usb 2.0 plus video capture.
the capture source box is greyed out so i cannot go into it to see if the device is listed.i was wondering whether the capture funtion is disabled in the trial version but no one seems to know. my capture device works perfectly with windows movie maker and pinnacle studio 9 so there is no fault with it . any suggestions greatly appreciated.
