picture and title on menu page

Post by preacher ben »

I have been struggling with the DVD Picture Show 4 to try to get just a picture and the title (where I want it) on my Menu page. I have looked in the book and done everything I could think of on the program. Is there anyway to simply get a picture and title without the set THEMES? Some of my shows don't really fit any of the themes and I don't like a lot of them anyway. I would appreciate any help.

Ben, with PictureShow4, it's best accomplished by starting with a theme and REPLACING the elements you wish to change.

Add your photos in "1 Organize" as usual. Go to "2 Theme" and select a theme from the "Gallery" tab, preferably one that has the correct thumbnail position(s) and the style of navigation buttons you prefer. Next, go to the "Menu" tab and select "Add an image file" (the sunflower icon under the "Background Image" category). Navigate to the desired picture and select it. You will see that your selected picture has replaced the original theme background. Next, in the "Background Audio" category you can replace the menu audio track if you wish. Then go to the "Slideshow" tab and use the selection buttons at the top of the pane to replace the background audio for the slideshow. Also use the various optins under the "Functions" category to change other attributes as necessary.

Thanks for the help. I have figured most of those things out, but I wondered if after i placed my picture in the place of the background whether I could move the words to different places or move the text box. Is there any way to set up the picture I want with the text boxes I want?

Ben,

As far as I know you cannot drag menu thumnails and/or text with PS4. The workaround is to find a theme template that pre-positions the thumbnail as close as possible to where you want it. If you can't find one that works for you, you might consider using a text only theme template.

If you go to MovieFactory5 the types of authoring features you're looking for are enabled. For example, you can freely drag (move) and/or resize thumbnails and text anywhere on the menu. You can also chose from a variety of layout templates, decorative thumbnail frames, and navigation buttons. If these capabilities are important to you I would recommend that you download the MF5 trial and give it a test drive. I have PS4, MF5 and VideoStudio 10 installed on the same PC and haven't run into any conflicts whatsoever.

BTW, it's also possible to manually import your PS4 templates to MF5. Once done, your combined template library will be available from MF5's gallery dropdown menu.

No prob :D

Just FYI, if I recall correctly, the MF5 trial version includes a limited number of transitions, templates, effects, etc... If you opt to purchase you'll receive the full set.
