Hi James,

We need more information then "the AVI file isn't accessible". It could be that the AVI is on protected media, or HDD, or just not there.

What type of AVI is it? AVI (Audio Video Interleave) is a wrapper used for several formats, such as DV (preferred for editing), DivX, Xvid, and MPEG-4.

How did you get the AVI onto your computer? Did you capture / transfer it via Firewire (IEEE1394, Sonys iLink) from a camcorder, d/l from the internet, or from a DVD?

Thanks for the reply. The avi files are from the internet, they are movie files that you can watch on the computer, but for some reason i cant make a DVD out of it.
Some Avi files are tv shows which had been sent to me through Streamload, then downloaded them to my hard drive, but then again i cant make a dvd with them?
If you need more information about what type of avi files there are let me know how to find that information out?
Thank you

Typical m0r0n.. Always there when he needs somehting, and yet doesn't contribute anything to anyone whatsoever.

Guess what there are others who have that problem, the least you can do is say how you solved it since you did, Parasite

Gorzul24,

I don't think that is going to motivate him or anyone else to reply. I know if I were addressed like that, I surely would not feel the need to inform you. This could be asked respectfully... :!:

Hehe

Dear Ron,

As you can see above, someone DID ask respectfully, and that wonderful man couldn't care less. Therefore I wasn't expecting an answer from him nor would I have gotten it had i been nice.

As for you and the rest of the people you mention I'd expect the same feelings of anger and disgust towards a guy who floods posts when he needs something and turns his back on everyone as soon as he's gotten his answer. If you want to condone that behavior then don't be surprised when someone does that to you.

And besides no one else knows how to solve this otherwise they'd answer poor Mr. Blue Sky who's asked the question a month ago.

Back to the topic though, as far as I'm concerned this error message happened recently and suddenly out of the blue. What I mean is that 10 days ago I used the same Avi files located in the same place on my HDD to record a Video DVD and everything went perfectly fine.
Now it says they are not accessible, thats what's really weird.
So I would rule out Codec problems or the software's inability to achieve that goal since I was executing these actions ast week with no probem.
If anyone has had a similar experience let me know.

G.

PS: I'm using Movie Factory 5[/quote]

By the way I dont get the error message with Movie Factory 4.

Now, I would just use Movie factory 4, except when I include 3 or 4 large files movie factory 4 refuses to encode them saying it's above 4.5g. with movie factory 5 you can ask it to go ahead anyway and then shrink the final iso with DVD shrink thats the difference.

Is there anyway to ask movie factory 4 to go ahead and encode even tho it's beyond the 4.5g limit?

Ok I solved it.
And I'll share at least.

Installing the lastest Divx Bundle was key.
you can find it here:

Good luck.
