Okay ..... I have been using Video Studio 10 plus now for about 2 weeks. I made a couple of WMV movies for the internet in the 1500kbps range. I used to have NO problem customizing the size down to where I wanted it.
I am making 1280 X 720 Wmv Hd clips.
I log into the program today, and have found that I can no longer change my Wmv setting when I go to make a video???
To better explain, here is a cut 'n paste from a tutorial I read:
To create WMV-HD files:
Select File: Create - Video File.
In the Create Video File dialog box, select Windows Media Video from the Save as type list.
Click Template, and then select a WMV HD profile (such as Ulead - WMV HD 720 24p). To use the default template settings for creating the WMV HD file, skip to step 5.
To specify custom settings, click Options: Profile - Customize. Use the New, Edit, or Copy button to create, modify, or duplicate profiles.
For details on modifying settings in a profile, see "Editing and customizing a video profile" in your MSP User Guide.
After you have finished customizing profile settings, enter a file name then click Save to create the WMV HD file.
NOW HERE IS MY PROBLEM!!
When I get to customize ... it does NOT give me a New - Edit - Copy button to make any changes. I cannot change anything, except choose a template, which I cannot modify.
This is So weird! Has anyone ever come across this before? I hope I'm explaining this right ......
Thanks for reading!

I notice that the segment you quoted appears to come from a Media Studio Pro tutorial and not one for Video Studio. There could be differences in what appears on screen, particularly with regard to labels on buttons, in the two programs.
Anyway, what I think you have to do in Video Studio is go to Share > Create Video File. In the drop-down menu which appears, choose Custom at the very bottom.
Then in the pop-up window which comes next choose Windows Media Video (.wmv, .asf) as the format.
Then click on the Options button on that window. A new pop-up window appears with 3 tabs (headed Ulead Video Studio, Profile and Attributes). Choose the Profile Tab.
At the top of that Tab, under the word Profiles, there is a drop down menu which gives you a squillion choices as to the WMV template you want to choose.
Click on the one you want to highlight it, and then click on the Customise button down towards the bottom of that Tab. A new a bigger pop-up window comes up, and that is where you get the New, Edit and Copy buttons...
Have fun!!

Exactly Ken!
But .... here is my problem...
"At the top of that Tab, under the word Profiles, there is a drop down menu which gives you a squillion choices as to the WMV template you want to choose."
I used to get several wmv HD choices here, and now they are gone....now all I get is a bunch of windows media video 8 choices, none of which are in HD ..... they USED to be there. I swear........*sigh*.....
Even so ... when I choose options after choosing to save as a wmv, I used to be able to change the Kbps to whatever I wanted. Now I don't get that option. This is a bizarre puzzle, that I am sick of trying to solve!
Thanks for the reply though Ken. Your time is appreciated!

Have you tried the old tested and true 'reinstall' option (or Repair if you have the full boxed edition)? If you do a reinstall, my inclination would be to remove every trace of VS, including through a registry search. That way at least you'd know you were starting afresh...
Otherwise, I am stumped. Amongst the squillion choices I mentioned on my computer are still quite a few HD options, so I just don't know what has happened to yours.
