Did something really dumb; serial gone

Post by hondashadow »

Hi everybody!

I did something unbelievably dumb. I uninstalled VS6 SE DVD which came with my capture device and installed premiere, only to find that it does not support my capture device.
So, I went back to installing VS6 but..... I can't find the paper cd cover with the serial number on it!

Is there any way to find the serial number in the registry after uninstall? Or is there any way to get a new serial from Ulead?

I hope someone here can help me overcome my stupidity....
Thanks!

I see you're using XP so you need to act quick - use System Restore and select a date before you uninstalled VideoStudio.

Did you register VideoStudio on the Ulead website - if so you're serial number is recorded there. (Not all SE versions are able to be registered.)

Unfortunately, I have system restore switched off.....

And since I installed VS6 about a year ago, I don't remember if I registered.
Is there any way for me to find out?

Thanks!
