Aspect Ratios

Post by Feff »

Hi all,

Does anyone know if Ulead VS (using 9se) can change the aspect ratio of a program recorded with a tv card?

If the program was noy transmitted in Wide Screen, when you burn the finished product, there are black borders all around the picture and you have to use zoom on dvd player to cut out. This usually cuts out too much though.

Cyberlink DVD player can change aspect ratio to 1:85 and it fills screen perfectly but that is when you are watching on computer only and file is not burnt that way.

Have tried lots of Google searches with no success.

Any thought welcome.-- Thanks.

If it's not 16.9 to begin with you cannot make it 16.9 without stretching it like elastic or alternatively losing the heads and toes.

You either have to put up with black bars down the sides to make up for the extra width or alternatively turn thin people into fat people.

To put it another way you are fitting round pegs in square holes.

Hi

As Steve said you need to start with the correct video file.

What are the properties of your captured video file?.(right click on the clip in the timeline and select properties) post them here.

Have a look at ‘16:9 a Look at Widescreen’ from the link below
