veditor.exe Entry Point Not Found please help

Post by magnusg »

HI,
I am using MediaStudio Pro 8.0 full version. I downloaded the plugin Smart compositor with templates. Then restarted my computer as instructed. When I then tried to open MediaStudio Pro 8.0 I was unable, and I got the following error message. What to do?

------------
veditor.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point ?ResetToEmptyRect@CScrollCability@@QAEXXZ could not be located in the dynamic link
library UIShareTolls.dll.

------------

Thanks,
Magnus

Make sure you have downloaded the correct SP1 from http://www.ulead.com/tech/msp/msp_ftp.htm

Some SP1 which is not from Ulead website is a beta patch and might lead to this issue.

Which build number of MSP8 are you using (see Help|About - the 4-figure # gives the build #). SP1 will not install properly on builds <0030.

I get the same error after SP1 installation although the build of UMS is 30. Moreover Ulead AudioEditor reports: : "A Key Error", Video Capture is unable to start due to problem with msUser.dll. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Hi,

First, welcome to the forum.

The A-Key error means one of the following cases:

MSP 8 is not installed properly.

or

You are trying to hack (or crack) MSP 8 because A-Key is some codec protection mechanism in Ulead video / DVD products. You cannot start Audio Editor and Video Capture because the A-Key protection information is missing or is wrong. It has nothing to do with uvUser.dll (not msUser.dll).

Make sure you are using a legal version of MSP. Try the clean re-install procedure in the following link to see if it helps if you are indeed using a legal version:

http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 5773#55773

If it does not help, you need to contact Ulead Tech Support.

If you still get your Ulead product installed in your system, you can use the following way to know the version build number of your Ulead product:

Select Start->Run in the Windows Task Bar to invoke the Run Command box and type RegEdit.exe then OK to start Registry Editor. Find the following folder in Registry Editor:

My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Ulead Systems\<Ulead Product Name>\<Ulead Product Version>\Installer

In that folder you should see a ProductVersion value on the right panel.

It doesn't require the reinstallation of UMS, you can use the XP feature: Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore
