Hi All,
I would be very grateful for your help. I am rather stressed trying to put together some dvds using videiostudio 9.
I capture clips from dv camcorder and some of the clips don't run smooth sort of stuttering which is preventing me from moving forward.
I am using a laptop 266 gz with 712 mb ram, I have been told this is sufficient?
I have burned some to disc and still get the stutter/delay on the finished version. Albeit not as much as when I am editing or previewing on my laptop. Please can you help me!
Also my friend did some discs on video studio 10 and used one of their menu templates, can I download this template from ulead site to use in video studio 10.
Thanks Leeous

Hi Leeous, and welcome to the forums..
This could be from how you captured / transfered your video to your laptop, how much free space you have on your HDD, if there are any other applications / utilities running in the background, and possibly your workflow.
In order to help you we need more information. Please read the following : Also please complete your system information in your profile. This will help us in troubleshooting your problems now, and in the future this information will already be available, so you will not have to re-type it.
As far as the templates, if they are found on Ulead's webiste http:www.ulead.com, then you can try to download and use them. However I suspect the template(s) you maybe referring to are specific for VS10. In our tutorials section there is a tutorial about creating DVD menus. http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=11378.
Another tutorial on sharing DVD menus between MF5, VS10 and VS9:

Stutter on capture
As I have mentioned in a previous post, I too was vexed by the jerky capture in VS9. What puzzled me was that if I experimented capturing that same video with Windows Movie Maker, there was no problem, only while capturing with VS product. I was then referred to download a small, but very effective capture program called WINDV. I did a Google search and found the site easily. It works great. Ulead should buy this guy's product and make it the capture module for VS. Anyway, I have no capture problems or configuration issues if I just capture using WINDV. Good luck!

Tommy,
I agree that WinDV is a super little capture program. There are several of us that use it for capturing / transfering DV to the computer. It is somewhat puzzling how a freebie app can be so affective, yet several purchase apps (not just Ulead's) can't be.

Leeous -- you could also try changing the Encoding Type of your DV capture to Type 1. VS normally installs with Type 2 as the default. A lot of people find that capturing Type 2 is not possible with their computer. One of the indicators of a poor Type 2 capture is jerky video and/or audio. On the Capture page, and with DV selected as the capture format, click on the Options icon and you will be able to change the Encoder Type there.
