Hi,
The subject says it all.
I can't get this to work. It looks like the menu effect in PI10 can't handle MF5/VS10 stuff. Anyone succeeded?
The "export" function is not available and it complains about undefined items, using a default menu (Smart Scene 01).
Daniel
Someone ever edited a DVDMF5 or UVS10+ menu with PI10?

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention in the subject that I specifically need to edit a Smart Scene menu from DVDMF5 or VS10.
Those when loaded into PI10 (not 11) don't seem to be useable; the export function is greyed out and if the menu is saved and then used in VS10 the program crashes to desktop.
It's not in my modification itself since just load/save is enough to make VS10 crash.
Did someone successfully modify the smart scene menu ?
If yes then I'll triple check my procedure, if not I'll guess it works only with PI11.

Not so. As per my reply to your other thread some of the ready made menus have minor errors which you can correct with PhotoImpact as mentioned in This Thread
I will be cautious here because I know you're a knowledgeable person, but this discussion is related to making one's own menus based on a 12-button example you developed.
It is not directly related to my point, which is very restrictive in it's scope: editing succesfully one of the provided one-scene menus. It is not about making a copy or adding:moving something.
By the way, for the sake of testing I copied the first menu to a new one and it opens and works without any problem in VS10. So it's not about adding another one.
Still, again, I'm using the original menu UFO in it's original place, and can't handle this within PI10. That's my point, the only one.
Now it may well be as I wrote before, that even PI11 can't do it, if there's a bug/new feature in all new menus.

I think we may be confusing each other here so for the sake of clarity.
Firstly the link to my answer to your your thread.
Second. The One Scene (smart menus) are not normal thumbnail menus.
There is more to a smartscene menu than the simple UFO (layered picture) file.
A smartscene menu is linked to macros written in some computer language along the lines of C++, Visual Basic, Delphi or some other computer language.
You could take a Smartscene menu and with photoimpact create from it a normal thumbnail menu - but thats all it will be.

So if I understand, that's your clear answer to my question: no a smart scene menu can't be edited either by PI10 or PI11 and retain functionality.
Still the other menus from VS10, from the Button and Text menus, also don't load in PI10.
I thus conclude the assertion from Ulead that with PI you can edit the Videostudio menus is no more general. It does not work with any of the menu supplied with VS10, because saving the edited menu would not copy some of the originally embedded information.
According to what you suggest and we know you don't work for Ulead.

Yes, Steve does not work for Ulead.
For DVD menu editing in PI, I think there will be some changes in the future. However, nothing I can say for now.
You can fill the feedback form for PI to Ulead to provide some ideas.
