Which one is the default icon for PI11? The one looks like a camera in a turnpage, or the one that is a camera in a full blue back ground?
I think it is the first.
In a previous post I posted about the icon assoc. not sticking though the progra worked. After talking to tech support several times (having no luck), it is one of 2 problems since it is sticking now( for the last 4 or 5 days) I haven't did the upgrade packs for PI11. I noticed there is a "File associations in Preferences do not work) fix.
I also think I was changing the icon to the full blue with camera one, but dont' believe that is the problem.
First I am going to download the and install the raw update pack to see for a few days if that was the problem, then do the "(Build Number: 11.0.0.1, Release Date: 2006/5/2)" update pack. If it messed up on this update, then I (we) know what the problem would be (cause I wasn't the only one with the problem)
Though I notice now there are not photo launcher isn't in the "open with" program on the right click
Yes, I know like tech support says if by not installing the update it works right, don't install the update. I'd like to know for sure, so others that have the problem will be able to know.
thanks Bruce

Re: Default Icon which one for PI11
Are you sure it isn't the same icon your looking at but displayed differently by windows?brucefl wrote:Which one is the default icon for PI11? The one looks like a camera in a turnpage, or the one that is a camera in a full blue back ground?
I think it is the first.............
Confused?
I took a look at my installation and found that there is only 1 icon in iedit.exe. However........ looking at the program launcher from
[Start] [Programs] [whatever...] the icon appeared as you described
"a camera in a full blue back ground"
If however you create a desktop icon you get the one you described
"looks like a camera in a turnpage"
Windows has placed a small arrow in a square white box at the bottom left corner of the icon. It does this with all other icons - not just PhotoImpact. This is normal behaviour.

There are three files that use the round shaped Icon with the Camera on the Blue Background. They are all found in the main Folder of PI.
The first is the ie.ico, which is the Ulead icon file for the other two.
The other two are Iedit.exe, the PI Launcher, and Iedit_exe PI11’s exec file. The PI Exec file contains several other Icons that it can associate as other PI extensions.
Confusing to say the least, but this is the way all programs are. Microsoft has about 30 or 40.

icon association
The one I am talking about would be in a folder like my documents, it looks like a camera in a blue circle, in a greyish(top) to white(bottom)background, has a turnpage at the top right hand corner.
Yea, I know the desktop icon has a turn arrow in the lower left hand corner, (unless you download powertoys).
Going to re download the updates, now and see if it changes the file associations,
will let you know how that turns out.
