Dear all,
I have downloaded the trial version of VS10+ and try to join the avi files I have shot with my Cannon IXUS 750 camera into a single file. When I load them to the project library they can be previewed in the preview screen. However, after I dragged them into the storyboard and switched the preview player into project view, the player only display black screen with audio.
What seems to be the problem? I am a newbie only digital video editing software so please help if you have experience such problem before.
Thanks!
Andrew

Have you loaded everything into your computer that came on the CD with your camera? I ask because the video format used by the Ixus is AVI carrier format using the Motion JPEG (MJPEG) codec. That codec does not come with Windows, and not many other programs use it any more. So it would have to be specifically loaded for your camera to be able to download usable video. You could do a Google search for a freeware program called Sherlock, which will tell you what codecs you have on your computer. If the MPJEG one is not there, that could account for your problem -- though I admit it does not explain how the clips play back when you first load them into Video Studio...
