WINDV and solution for capture problems with VS9

Post by tommytucker »

Thanks to other posting guiding me to this free software. I was confounded that I could capture video using Windows Movie Maker, but not VS9 without getting jerky, dropped frames. Toyed with VS9, read posts, got frustrated, read that you can download WINDV and as described, it works great on capturing DV video from my digital video cam. I wish VS would just put this guy's module in their software. Great that it is free and works perfectly. No device control, you have to start your playback yourself on the camera to capture, but no capture problems. Thanks for the recommendation!

The checkbox between the Config and Capture buttons enables device control -- it should be able to start the camcorder for you. It will not let you fast forward or rewind, but it should start and stop the camcorder while capturing.
