No PhotoImpact does not use the Spline filter to resize images. I currently have Jasc PaintShop Pro 9, PhotoImpact-11, CorelDraw Graphics Suite 9, and IrfanView. Believe it or not (Rippley doesn't
), IrfanView is the only program that uses a Spline Filter, and it is a B-Spline algorithim.
So I'd say since there is a free trial, download it and give it try to see if it can really make something from nothing...
After all when you enlarge a digital image, you are creating something from nothing..

Yes, it is one of the best Filters, but it does not enlarge distortion free. THAT IS ADVERTISIING HYPE!! It only enlarges distortion free compared to other Filters!!
If you are interested in the best enlargement software on the market then you will have to shell out some cash for Knesen Imagener Unlimited photo enlargement. They also have a program that will enlarge to mural sized images. This program is vector based.

Something you need to remember, all image you copy or scan at low resoluiton do not resize without distortion. Any printed image, and scanner, and digital device scans as a particular resolution. Unless that resolution is very high such as 360 to 720 your images will have a limited resize no matter what software you use.
