Adding Text

Whenever I try to add text to a photo, not all the letters will type, in particular the letter 'e'. This not only happens with my computer, a friend recently purchased PI and has exactly the same problem

Hi,

Is this in PI-11?

Have you tried using different Fonts/type faces? For example a Font Bauhaus Bold, seems to only allow all caps. I'm guessing that you're referring specifically to the small letter e, correct?

I have tried many different fonts and yes it appears to be the lowercase 'e' that PI11 doesn't like. I have managed a workaround by copying the text in 'character map' and then pasting it in. This seems to allow the letter 'e' in, but I was hoping there may be a more simple way to do this.

I had a reply to this on another forum, the work around is this: If it occurs, reloading the workspace will fix it.

THANK YOU, I'm sooo happy I found this forum. Thought I had gone
crazy when b, r and n simply would not work. I was sure that I had
accidently changes something.... spend hours trying to solve it....

Re-loading workplace did fix it.

It's a well known quirk with PI 11. Seems to aflict only certain (unknown why) hardware/software combinations. Many people, including myself, never had this problem at all but it was listed as a PI 11 bug in the early days. I have PI 11 installed on a number of different machines and never seen this bug.

I'm not 100% on this, but wasn't the patch supposed to have fixed that? Did you load the update patch for PI 11 update pack 1? http://www.ulead.com/tech/pi/pi_ftp.htm

I just bought the program, - and I have PI10, - that was the latest available (in Sweden).

Editing: Sorry, - I have PI 11.... I don't know why I thought otherwise.. :roll:
