No background music (for slideshows) when burning DVD

Post by martinc »

Hi,

I'm using DVD Moviefactory 5.0 and have a problem with the background music of the image-slideshows.
I've selected some *.wav files to put as background music for the slideshows, and if I test it in Moviefactory, everything works perfect. But once I record it to a disc, the background music seems dissapeared. It looks like it is not burned...I've tried various ways to solve this problem but nothing seems to help.

my project settings:

MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
(DVD-PAL), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 7000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)

Any help is appreciated!

Hi,
Check the properties of the wav files for the type of encoding they contain. The .wav extension itself doesn't tell us anything about what's inside.

Maybe MF can't handle that specific type of audio when encoding Dolby.

If you use some other software to convert those wav files to wav files with 16 bit PCM stereo audio (no compression), then it will most likely work.

I'm having the same problem with a different product - Photo Explorer 8.0. I can play my slideshow fine on my computer, but can't burn (for pc) with music files included. I have noticed that music files are included if I burn to view on t.v., however quality is poor.

Ideas anyone?

Snoops,

Thanks for your reply. After I converted it, it managed somehow to work. I thought I've tried everything possible, but there seem to be more possibilities ;-) However, when I burned it on DVD the background music was there, so thank you very much!
