Movie Factory- Help with DVD Copying

Post by joleni »

When I attempt to Copy Disc (a legitimate & legal DVD) that I have previously created with Movie Factory 3-
I have only one DVD drive so I have to save the disk as an image file first.
I receive the following message when I attempt to do this.....
"The source disk cannot be converted to .iso disk format. Please use .ixb format to creat a disk image file."
Then when I attempt to burn this created image file the program tells me this file format is not supported?!
Help.
System info: Mashita DVD-RAM/R burner in a Gateway Desktop Computer
I have had the same results with a disk burned from a stand alone Panasonic dvd- vhs recorder and when I trialed Ulead DVD Movie Factory 5.
Thanks, Joe Tzougros

I use the same approach as MD and have no problems.

The disks I burn are DVD-R created with Video Vegas by Sony or Uleads Movie factory. The one I am currently burning is from the Panasonic DVD- Vhs recorder. I still get the same error message if I put the source and destination as the same drive ,but I think your second suggestion is working as I am Posting this!!! Thank you both for your prompt replies.

I don't know what exactly you are doing but all I do is this
  • put a DVD in my burner (only optical drive fitted)
select copy disk to disk in MF 4
set source and destination to the same drive and click "Copy"

I don't need to specify an image file type or anything. The proram reads the DVD, makes an image of it on the HDD, prompts me for an empty DVD disk and burns it to disk. That's it.

That's the essence of my problem I do it the way you said and the error message that an .iso file can't be created comes up. Now I burned a a copy of the TS-Video folder and the copy works on my computer but not my dvd player with the TV.

I truly thank you for your assistance this is appreciated but I am trying to copy from a DVD-R toa DVD-R. the TS_Folder technique plays on my computer with its menus, on my newsest DVD-VHS without menus, and not at all on my other DVD player that has played all my previously computer generated DVD-R disks. Does the TS_Video burn not "finalize" a DVD?
