Installation Problem

EDITED: I solved the problem. Although not real comfortable working with the registry, I opened regedit and did a search for "cool 3D" and deleted all entries found. Then, the 3SE version installed, followed by my update to Production Studio. So far, I haven't noticed any ill effects from my fiddling with the registry (I did back it up before I played with it and also set a restore point in XP).

I am a registered owner of Production Studio (upgrade) and am trying to install Cool 3D on my new computer. Obviously, since this is an upgrade version, it needs evidence of a prior registered version. Not being able to find my earlier version, I decided to download an earlier trial version and see if I could "activate" it with the serial number I had (I have copies of my registered serial numbers for earlier version, just not the files). Well, the trial version doesn't upgrade. Well, then I realized that I could get Cool 3D version 3SE as a free download after installing Video Studio 9. Although I don't use VS9 anymore, I went ahead and installed it on my computer, then ran "smart download" and was able to download Cool 3D version 3SE.

I thought my problem was solved (install that version and then my Production Studio upgrade would work). However, when I went to install version 3SE, I get an error message that says, "Installation detected that Ulead Cool 3D 2.0 is already installed on your system. If you want to install the Ulead Cool 3D 3.0, please uninstall Ulead Cool 3D 2.0 first." THE PROBLEM is that Ulead Cool 3D 2.0 is NOT installed on my system or any other version of Cool 3D. I checked add/remove programs, ran a registry checker, rebooted (since I had installed/uninstalled that trial version) and did everything else to get rid of any evidence of Cool 3D on my system. I still get that error message. Any suggestions?
