Replace the face ?

Post by welchb »

Hello All,

I'm not sure if this is possible in Photo Impact -- my wife is doing this for a project with the school class she teaches.

The project is on Eqypt -- she has two pictures -->

1) A picture of Tutankamon (gold coloured mask)
2) A picture of one of the kids in the class

We can cut the head out, of the kids picture using 'extract object' and overlay this onto the other picture but this just looks like a skin-tone head over a gold mask --- if you see what I mean.

Really she want to try and make the child's face look more like the mask image -- i.e. almost to make this transparent across the top.

This is the best way I can describe it --- is this possible ?

I'd really appreacite any help.

Thanks & Regards,

Brian

I am not sure this is what you are looking for, but you can change the Opacity setting for each object in the Object Manager. Or, you can do a Radial Fadout. You change the opacity of this object as well.

Hi Keenart,

Thanks for the reply --

I'm trying to make the original picture have the features of the person but retain the original's colours etc.....

It's hard to explain and I'll look at the features you describe.

Perhaps another way to explain what I'm trying to achieve -- if you think of a famous landmark, say the White House (for USA) or Big Ben cloclk face in London -- I''d like to out a persons 'head' onto the object so that object took the features of the person.

A clock face would be a good example -- where you had the numbers for the hours/minutes etc... but the 'face' of the clock looked like the person

Kinda merging the images

Hope that makes a bit more sense.

Again any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Brian

Brian,

Yes, I believe I understand what you are trying to accomplish. Displacement or Image mapping is what you are trying to achieve. PI can Emboss, Overlay, Creative Transform, and Fadeout, but does not have the ability to create true Multiple Image Displacement.

Software that can accomplish that task is oftern expensive. As an alternative, you might try Photo Morphing software. There are Freeware versions and Trial versions available on the Web.

hi keenart,

I think that's exactly the phrase I was looking for "photo morphing"

I'll have alook on the web and see what I come up with.

Many thanks,

Brian
