How to select HQ or SP in Video Studio 9

Post by ghoofie »

So I'm anxiously awaiting arrival of my a/v capture device which comes with Video Studio 9. I'm already thinking of things like .. When I actually burn the DVD after capturing video, will the software let me select HQ or SP ? Thanks..I'm new to this (burning DVD's).

Videostudio does have existing DVD templates for different quality encodings -- whether those will correspond directly to the quality that you are expecting, I don't know. But if the encoding method and bitrate doesn't fit your needs, you can easily change them and/or update the supplied templates.

Thanks. I just figuring if I have a video to convert that is less than 1 hour, I can use HQ. If it's longer then 1 hour, but less than 2 hours, then I would us SP.

Well you could but as Thoff has said you can actually customise each DVD template so that instead of stepping down to SP you could use HQ and just drop the bitrate sufficiently to get the video to fit on your DVD.

If you have say a 1 hour 15 minute video you do not need to drop all the way down to the 2 hour quality setting to get it to fit your DVD - just adjust the bitrate slightly..
