Moviefactory5 Will not WORK

Post by MarkJames »

I have downloaded MF5 tonight, it installs fine and when i run the launcher i am presented with a Ulead Moviefactory 5 Menu, i choose Video Disk and New project but only the two editable disc programs work, creat a video disk does nothing except pop up a small box saying moviefactory with moving blocks then back to the menu again, please tell me what info you require to resolve this problem which is stopping the software from working.

Have you actually imported any clips into the time line prior to wanting to create a video disk? At this stage I would hazard to guess that the problem sits in front of the PC.

No offence intended but how much do you know about the process of video creation? What is it exactly that you want to do? What are your source file properties and what do you want to convert to?

Since you said it might be a install problem, have you tried to re-install it again? See the suggested re-install steps in http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 5773#55773

Please also list any video/audio codec packs you used in the system. Since you are an MCSE, it should be easy for you to find them.

I doubt some codec packs in your system might get conflicted with DVDMF. I remember Microsoft has listed some codec packs that will conflict with video programs in their tech support pages.

Hope this helps.

Wow....

I think all Microsoft / Intel codec packs should be fine. I'm not sure about IIS MP3 codec. For others, I think you might need to check them.

Have you tried to rename the VCT3216.acm to other file name to try? I have some trouble with it before....

Hope this helps.

Perhaps it is not an instllation problem but a fault with your video files.
Can we start off with the usual questions relating to the source of your video files, bit rates etc.

I do hope your not using MPEG4 DivX or Xvid.

As someone else mentioned this is a USER forum not the Ulead Tech Support Help Desk but we do our best to help.

If he cannot get the program to start at all then the first step is to re-install
using our suggested procedure

If that fails then it is a cse of looking for conflicting programs
OR
What is the source of the installation files - ESD download or on Disc.
Whichever - could be faulty.

Do NOT Edit any of these configuration files.
Sometimes and rare I have to rename the MF5 under the user application data directory. This will force MF5 to retest some of the things on the system again and recreate the users configuration files.

MD
Thanks for that, i deleted both folders in mine and the All users dir and reinstalled, still will not load.
