hi,
i am just trying the trial version of movie factory.
my project consists of one clip:
- it is created by joining two DV-in clips,
- the length is 1h22min, size 4.2GB.
application shows correct values, disk space is sufficient.
but after dvd burning, the last 15 minutes of movie are lost.
i have tried to:
- create iso image,
- create dvd folders,
- export the clip.
in all these cases, the result is the same. the trimmed size of the movie is only 3.10GB.
is this problem connected to the limitations of the trial version?
the software looks great except this critical error.
best regards,
josiph
missing the last 15 minutes of dvd
NO!is this problem connected to the limitations of the trial version?
If your original file is 4.2GB, that is not DV. It might be MPEG.- it is created by joining two DV-in clips,
- the length is 1h22min, size 4.2GB.
Note that a bad video file will often play-back OK. A tiny bit of bad data sent to your video card might not be noticable, but it might really foul-up an MPEG encoder.

I think about the same thing.DVDDoug wrote:If your original file is 4.2GB, that is not DV. It might be MPEG.- it is created by joining two DV-in clips,

When the video file is a 1h22m AVI but is only 4.2GB in size, then it should not be a DV AVI. A normal DV-AVI for 1 hour would be 13GB.
AVI is only a media container which will contain media streams that are been compressed with a codec pack, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVI for more information.
