Nature of the problem

MF5 will not see my camcorder.

Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?)
Mini DV on my camcorder.

What devices are involved and their mode of connection?

Panasonic NV-GS180 EG being connected via firewire.
PC running XP Pro SP2
SB Audigy sound card has the firewire port on it.

Project Settings

Default.

Output format (file, DVD, VCD, SVCD)

Trying to create files for a DVD project.

PAL or NTSC

PAL

Error Codes (if any)
[13011:1:3] after clicking ok button [13011:2:1]

Additional info
I have tried everything suggested in all other posts I could find.

I used to use MF4 with my Sony camcorder on the same installation of XP, so I just can't work out why this isn't working.

I can can use the software that comes with the Panasonic to capture, I can also use windows movie maker to capture.

Any help would be greatly appreciated before I tare out what little hair I have left.

Thanks

maddrummer3301 wrote:You can try this and sometimes will reset your default capturing devices properly.

Enable "Show Hidden Folders" under windows explorer Tools -> Folder Options ->View(tab)

then naviagate to:
C:\Documents & Settings\<Your_User_Name>\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory\

Highlight the version of MF your working with (MF5) and press F2 and rename it to something other than MF5, ex: MF5_Backup

Then turn on your camcorder, make sure windows see it.
Run MF5, (MF5 will recreate that directory you renamed and restore the defauits back again) then try to capture.
Hope it works for ya,

MD
Gave this one a go, but still have the same problem, thanks anyhow.

New Panasonic NV-GS*? My guess it's another case of incompatibilty. If so, Ulead should look into the details.
Recent discussion (just search for Panasonic or NV):

Try MS MovieMaker (free with XP) to capture.

Thx snoops, having read that thread, I am going to give VS10 a try and see if that does what I need.
