VS10+ Wont export to HDV, locked on DV

Post by Ross »

Hi,

I have a Sony HDR-HC1E camera, and I'm having problems with video studio.

No matter what I do, it will only export in 720x540 resolution !!

I can capture at 1440x1080 resolution ok.
If I right click and select 'properties' it displays 1440x1080.
If I 'save as still image', the image is 1440x1080.
If I play the raw captured video it plays at 720x540
If I export the video as 'PAL MPEG2 HD ( 1440x1080,25 fps ) it still plays at 720x540 !! ( or any other setting for that matter.... )
When I play the video, it is in slow motion ( like it was captured at 29fps or something, despite everything being set to 'PAL 25fps' )

Please please help me, all I want to do is capture HD video from my HD camera. The only things that says the captured video is HD is Ulead, everything else thinks its only DV.

I have tried this with Proxy on and off, and every possible combination of capture / export. Just out of interest, if I capture using Premier Pro and then play the videos they are 1440x1080 and play at the right speed. I dont want to use Premier though as it really hogs up my machine and drops out a lot.

Any suggestions ? Why does Ulead insist my videos are 1440x1080 when they are only 720x540 ?

Any help appreciated, I'm pulling my hair out on this one.

Before you start, set project preferences to the right settings for HDV.

When you save ("share") try the same as first clip option - otherwise use custom. If you use a PAL DVD setting, you will only get PAL resolution as an option.
