Add Text/ Props (Still or Movie) during Capture Process

Post by k0zaw »

Hello, :D

During capturing process, can you add overlay media like Text or props whether still image or movie :?:

If you can do, Time requirement for capturing and creating disc processes can be reduce.

If no one can do, I think this should be a feature request for ulead to be consider and request to Mod, to ask Ulead on behalf of us.

Nope. And it's not technically feasible to do on any software of this kind.

I disagree with that process.

When you Capture your video, what you are actually doing is Transfering the data from one storage medium,(Camcorder, VCR, DVD, CD,TV) to another (your computer Hard Disk Drive).

When you are adding Text, or Overlay Objects you are Editing your video clips. There are still numerous computers that are not powerful enough to cope with such things as capturing (transfering) video data in DV-AVI Type-2. Now try adding on the extra burden of Editing on the Fly, and you would need a system that only NASA can afford.

One way that this would be possible is to have a camera/camcorder that is capable of doing editing. Edit the video in the camera/camcorder and then capture it, and burn it. No editing with the computer. I think that takes away from the entire idea of Video Editing. Oh and yes there are some camera/camcorders that can do editing (cutting, splicing, rearranging), I just purchased one, Kodak's P880.

In summary the concept of Edit while Capturing is rediculous at present.(JMHO)..

You're totally correct, Ron. This posting takes me back to my early days in TV production where editing was very expensive and therefore at a premium. The end result was that a lot of post production effects and transitions were commited to during the production with predictable results.

I think the OP wants to have his/her cake and eat it. I'm surprised that rendering the whole process to mpeg2 and authoring and burning the DVD simultaneously, automatically deleting all project files after backing them up and defragging the hard disk, all during the capture process, wasn't part of the request. That would save some real time, wouldn't it?
