Hi All,
I haven't been on here in a long time, but was wondering if you could recommend good video capture card. I used to have an ATI AIW 7500 Radeon tv card (AGP), but never really got the results I wanted with it. It was glitchy video, no matter how high the quality was set to. So, last year I switched to a Leadtek Winxpert TV pci card. Better results, but it makes me wonder if there is a better solution. I don't have any more available PCI slots on my computer and would like to free up that slot for something else(professional audio input card). What about firewire capture devices or newer AGP video cards with A/V inputs? I had originally only used the cards for converting analog to DVD for preservation of home movies. The Leadtek card worked well for that, but I was just curious to see what you would recommend to receive top results without having to spend over $200 for an upgrade. I have always used Ulead Videostudio 7 with the capture cards
Thanks,
AC

Capture cards.. pci vs AGP, which brand do you prefer?

AGP is legacy technology, and most cards that are compatible with it are older designs. Going forward, it's PCI or PCIe, and if you don't have any of those slots available, I'd recommend going with an external capture device. The advantage of that is that you can also move it around and use it on a second PC or a laptop.
