Is this possible? Non-standard resolution MPEG-4

Post by dev »

I'm wondering if the following is possible A) at all and B) with Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus.

I want to take several images (probably jpeg or png's) and put them on a timeline and add in an audio track. And then the real tricky question is can I output to an MPEG-4 file in a non-standard resolution and aspect ratio such as 166x56 pixels?

I see there are options to save to QVGA (320x240) and what not but I want the resulting video file to be a non-standard resolution and aspect ratio. I want something like 166x56 because that's what the size of the screen area is that I want to fill. Its a weird aspect ratio because I want to embed the video into an application I'm creating for a mobile phone.

So is this even possible?

I couldn't figure out how to create a custom project template in VS10+ to set it to output video as 166x56 size.

Appreciate your feedback/help. Thanks!

Tools | Make Movie Manager | New

You can create a number of new MPEG4 templates using the following screen dimensions
  • 128 x 96
  • 176 x 144
  • 192 x 144
  • 320 x 240
  • 352 x 240
  • 352 x 288
  • 352 x 480
  • 352 x 576
  • 368 x 208
  • 480 x 480
  • 480 x 576
  • 640 x 480
  • 704 x 480
  • 704 x 576
  • 720 x 480
  • 720 x 576

Thanks for the reply!

Sounds like I can't do what I need though. I want the mpeg4 files to be at a 'custom' frame size of 166x56 and also at other resolutions depending on the particular screen in the application I'm designing. Thanks again though.
