I know, I know, VS10 just came out, but there some things I would like to see in the next version. And, IMHO, these aren't radical changes, just little enhancements to make a good product better.
1. The ability to trim clips while in an Overlay Track
*EDIT* Seems you cannot use the Mark In/Out in the Overlay track, but you can use the yellow Trim Handles to change the duration (essentially the same thing) while in an Overlay track. Thanks Trevor.
2. The ability to angle a title, like you can do on the menu (I really don't understand why you can do it on the menu but not in the video itself)
3. The ability to change the color of the menu buttons when they are active (inactive menu buttons are typically white or black, but some change to pink or yellow when they are active. Yuk.)
Time to open up that can o' worms!

It's not a can of worms and they are suggestions worthy of consideration.
In fact it might have been peer pressure from this user forum that eventually brought about those extra overlay tracks in version 10.
The items you mentioned at 1 & 2 can be done by it's bigger brother
MediaStudio Pro. In fact if you download the trial version you will be amazed at how much more can be done with video editing than you may have dreamed about.
The trade off has to be a balance between cost and complexity.
MediaStudio - whilst more powerful comes with a price tag and a learning curve. VideoStudio is more for the Home/Casual user who wants to get a foot into video editing - possibly to do the holiday movies etc.
Regarding the Menu Buttons. Its Big Sister DVD Workshop 2 will allow you to alter the colour scheme. You can also create your own DVD Menus from scratch with PhotoImpact and that includes specifying the colour scheme.
An easy alternative is to create the DVD Menu with VideoStudio but burn to a hard drive folder. You can then modify the colour scheme with a program named MenuEdit.
