Hello there,
I'm working on a DVD of local youth bands. I now have the final edit and DVD structure and would like to produce multiple copies. Is it best to create a disc image to do this? I don't want to keep all the files etc on my hard drive because it's taking up a lot of space. If I created the disc image could I then delete all the avi and mpeg2 files and still be able to produce further copies of the DVD?
I would also be greatful if someone could explain the difference between buring a disc image and buring DVD folders.
Thanks a lot for your advice!
Robin
Creating disc image file
I would recommend you create an ISO image file. This is what is used to burn a DVD/CD and you can use it as often as you like. The DVD folders is like "burning" a DVD on your hard disc, so that you can check what it looks like before actually burning. It is not specifically meant as a source file for burning, as it requires converting to an image file first.
Yes, you can delete all the old working files, if you are 100% sure you will never want to edit anything again.

DWS can burn from the DVD Folders -- it does not have to convert them to an image first...Devil wrote:The DVD folders is like "burning" a DVD on your hard disc, so that you can check what it looks like before actually burning. If you load the VIDEO_TS files into a Video DVD project of Nero Burning ROM it doesn't convert anything to ISO first - it goes straight to disc. So it doesn't cost anything significantly extra/longer.Devil wrote:It is not specifically meant as a source file for burning, as it requires converting to an image file first.
Of course you can also create the ISO and burn that as an image. It's marginally faster.
